The theme for Young Carers Action Day 2021 is: Protect Young Carers’ Futures and highlights the support that young carers need to reach their potential, specifically around education, health and wellbeing, and employment.
Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. They work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
Mr Stenabaugh is one of Heriot’s Young Carers coordinators and shares his thoughts with us on Young Carers Action Day.
We have a strong, committed Pastoral Care team at Heriot’s. We encourage our young people to be kind to themselves as well as to one another (in keeping with the beating heart of the school, to distribute chearfullie of kindness, of support and of generosity).
