Scotland and UK 2021University is the main destination for our leavers. Some will take a gap year first, but most will go directly from Heriot’s into higher education. This reflects how hard work and achievement can unlock tremendous opportunity.

In 2019, Our Higher results at S5 were the highest ever achieved at Heriot’s, with an A-C pass rate of 98.7% and a combined AB score of 93.5%. This marks the tenth year in a row that Heriot’s S5 students have achieved an A-C pass rate of over 96%. At Advanced Higher the A-C pass rate is 94.5% with a presentation of 363, averaging 2.16 exams per pupil. S6 personalisation and subject-choice at Advanced Higher subjects is a key factor in our bespoke final year programme

A handful of our leavers opt not to go to university. Our Careers Team can support those who wish to enter further education or employment instead. We can also connect leavers with mentoring opportunities now or in future; former pupils and friends of Heriot’s are often happy to share their insight and experience.
