SQA Exams

George Heriot’s School is thrilled to announce superb SQA exam results again this year.

Our Higher results at S5 are the highest ever achieved at Heriot’s, with an A-C pass rate of 98.7% and a combined AB score of 93.5%. This marks the tenth year in a row that Heriot’s S5 students have achieved an A-C pass rate of over 96%. This is a remarkable achievement by all of our students, especially given our high presentation rate of 889 exams. 80 S5 pupils attained an A in every subject.

Our National 5 results are also up on 2018 with an A-C pass rate of 98.3 % and a combined AB score of 93.7 % across 1375 presentations. 86 pupils achieved straight A grades in 8 subjects, once again underlining our commitment to broad subject choice in S4.

At Advanced Higher the A-C pass rate is 94.5% with a presentation of 363, averaging 2.16 exams per pupil. S6 personalisation and subject-choice at Advanced Higher subjects is a key factor in our bespoke final year programme.

The Principal, Lesley Franklin, writes:

“At Heriot’s, we encourage our pupils to work hard, be kind to each other and be happy. This creates a positive, encouraging environment where learning is valued and enjoyed. Congratulations to our pupils on all their hard work and warm thanks to our staff for always going the extra mile. Our headline results are extremely gratifying but, even more so, are all the personal stories of individual achievement beyond expectations”.
