WW1 commemorations

As part of our commemorations of World War One at Heriot's, we are pleased to be able to include information about the Serbian Boys - a group of boys who came to Heriot's in 1916 and were educated here for three years.

We are grateful to the efforts of Louise Miller who has researched and written up their story so that others may learn about the extraordinary story that led to them coming to Heriot's.

Louise is the author of A Fine Brother: The Life of Captain Flora Sandes (Alma Books), a biography of the only western woman to have enlisted and gone into battle as a soldier during the First World War.

She works as an independent scholar researching Anglo-Serbian relations during the War and is also the mother of Tom in P2H.
