P6 very much enjoyed their day out to Edinburgh Zoo, last week. Pupils spent some time looking at the diversity of animal life and the classification of vertebrates through handling and close observation. In addition, pupils investigated the changes that take place as animals develop, the life cycles of birds and mammals and the differences in family structure and parental care. One particular highlight was watching the three lion cubs frolic around their enclosure.
