On Wednesday 02 October, at Pittencreiff Park, Dunfermline, pupils from Senior School competed in the Scottish Schools Athletic Association Secondary Road Race Championships. In excellent conditions, runners from the school continued their excellent start to the season, producing the best results the school has had at this event.
In the S3/4 boys race, runners took home the team silver medals ahead of Stewart’s Melville College and just behind Clydeview Academy. The team consisted of Angus Wright, who came 11th place individually, Angus Ivory, who was 28th, Tommy Thin, 66th, and Tomas MacDonald, 74th.
The race was followed by the S5/6 girls race with runners achieving both individual and team success, winning the Lothian Cup and gold medals ahead of Eastwood High School. Cade Wright also earned her spot on the podium, in 3rd place individually, closely followed by Pippa Carcas in 4th place, Tallulah Wright in 8th place and Jasmine Mitchell, 19th.
The last race of the day was the S5/6 boys and the team came home with bronze, being the 3rd placed team ahead of Albyn School and just behind Clydeview Academy. The first runner home was Harry Henriksen in 13th place, with Callum Murison in 39th, Lachlan Rowley, 41st, and Noah McDermott, 48th.
In the S1 boys race, Jamie Duncan came in 26th. In the S2 boys race, Andrew Robinson was 83rd and Thomas Milne 96th and in the S3/4 girls race Roxanne Wright came in 7th.
