The Music Department currently has 328 pupils receiving individual lessons from 22 visiting Music Teachers. With 22 active ensembles, there are numerous opportunities for pupils to get involved in something new.
Brigitte (S4) took part in the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival on 1 March. She won the Harp medal for under 18’s for a harp recital of ten minutes.
Katy (P6) won The Jamieson Medal for piano solo, Level 3 at the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival.
Natasha (S1) performed one of her piano pieces at the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival on 3 March.
Mia K (P3) performed a piano piece at the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival, gaining her first music award.
Lucy G (S5) took part in the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival on 10 March in the Solo Singing: age 16 and 17 Class and was placed 1st winning the Sheena McNeil Medal.
Iona Z (P5) participated in her first concert, organised by the Nomad Beat Non-profit Music School. Last November, Iona won the Rotary Young Music Competition, and is the current Under 10 category winner for Piano.
