Former pupils at Scottish Curling Championship

Heriot’s former pupils Bruce Mouat (2012) and Rachel Dakers (2015) in the Scottish Curling Championship

Former pupil Bruce Mouat (2012) and his team, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan, have been selected to fly the Saltire at this season’s World Curling Championships. The team recently won their 4th Scottish Curling Men’s Championship title.

Team Mouat, previously won a bronze metal in 2018 and then a silver one two year ago. They became the first Scottish men’s team to achieve a top spot in the world rankings last year and consequently the first non-Canadian team to win three Grand Slam of Curling events.

Skip Mouat said on his recent interview, ‘It’s always great to get the phone call saying that we’ve been selected to represent Scotland at a Worlds and that was our main target this season, to get back there and hopefully go one better than 2021’.

In addition, Rachel Dakers (2015) came second in the women’s competition.
