Sketch for Survival

Sketch for Survival

Ms Barnaby, Senior School Biology Teacher, has won a highly commended prize for her beautiful portrait, ‘Contemplation’.

Ms Barnaby’s artwork, features in the Highly Commended section of the Explorer Gallery for Explorers Against Extinction.

Through the sale of original art and photography, Explorers Against Extinction have been able to support multiple frontline projects, from establishing a new working dogs programme in Garamba National Park in the DRC, to equipping Forest Edge Community Rangers working to safeguard tigers in Sumatra.

There were nearly 1,000 entries from over 47 countries and the selected pieces will be exhibited in London in November. All proceeds from the annual Sketch for Survival exhibition and auction goes to their Project Fund, to help with conservation projects.

In her free time, Ms Barnaby enjoys drawing portraits of animals and this links her role as a Biology teacher with the conservation effort.

You can check out more of Ms Barnaby’s work over on her Art Instagram page, as she ‘tries to bring the painterly aspects of coloured pencil to a wider audience.’

Well done for distributing chearfullie and showing creative talent.
