Heriot’s Junior A team won the Scottish round of Junior Challenge at Dollar Academy on 7 May, meaning the team is now unbeaten for six years as Scottish Challenge winners.
The team is comprised of the following S1 pupils: Hamish M, Finlay T (Captain), Joshua C, Nathaniel K. Next, they will represent Scotland in the ‘North of Britain’ round.
Heriot’s Senior A team won against Lancaster Royal Grammar School when representing Heriot’s, and Scotland, in the ‘North of Britain’ stage of Senior Challenge and made it to the final last month.
The team is made up of Lucy A (Captain, S5), Tom H (S5), David I (S4) and Andrew R (S4), pictured below. The competition is based on University Challenge.
Although Heriot’s has represented Scotland at the UK final stage of the competition on four occasions since 2015 (2019/2020/2021 didn’t go ahead due to covid) at Junior Challenge level (S1/2), this is the first time the team has achieved this result for Senior Challenge for many years.
