Very well done to the Heriot’s pupils who participated in the Beating Retreat ceremony for the Army HQ Scotland Officers’ Mess Dinner held at Edinburgh Castle on Thursday 29th June. The performance took place in the Crown Square outside the Great Hall before guests went in to dinner. It was an excellent display from our young musicians, confidently let by Drum Major Angus, Pipe Sergeant Henry and Lead Drummer Jonathan (all S4). Special mention goes to our S6 musicians Dougie and Ty, who took time out from their final day at Heriot’s to perform the Retreat Call, which they did brilliantly.
Following the performance in the Crown Square, the Pipes & Drums took the opportunity to play over the drawbridge at the Castle and onto the Esplanade.
