Exam Results

Exam results 2022 – A reflection of outstanding focus, effort and attainment

I am delighted to announce the results of this year’s SQA examinations. In what has been a year of ongoing challenges and change, pupils have attained an excellent set of awards across the board.

  • At National 5 level our S4 pupils achieved 98.6% pass rate (A-C) with 84.6% passes at A grade.
  • At Higher level our S5 pupils gained 97.7% passes (A-C) with 75.9% at A grade. In total 81 pupils achieved straight A grades in their Higher exams, a remarkable number. In addition, 23 pupils sat and passed a 6th Higher in the same examination diet.
  • Finally, and maintaining these high standards, were the S6 cohort, who achieved 97.1% (A-C) at Advanced Higher Level (with 67% at A grade) as well as a 87.7% (A-C) pass rate in those Highers that they sat.

The exams were the first formal assessments each student would have encountered and compare very favourably to the 2019 set of results that were the highest recorded.  This collective accomplishment is a true reflection of the hard work, dedication and tenacity of each and every pupil. To maintain a focus on academic attainment in a year that has continued to fluctuate with restrictions on activities, friendships and enjoyment, is an admirable achievement.

In addition to the pupils, the efforts of the teaching staff must also be acknowledged. For many, the last two years has been disruptive both to the teaching requirements but also the pattern and rhythm of school life. Their professionalism, care and effort are once again borne out through the pupils’ exam results.

Finally, we wish all our leavers who either are embarking upon their next stage of education, entering the workplace or setting off on adventures, a productive and enjoyable future.

Yours sincerely
