Heriot’s S3 pupils enjoyed the thrill and challenge of Coasteering near Oban and Seil Island last weekend.
Coasteering “is a physical activity that encompasses movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft.” See full Wikipedia definition here.
Last Saturday consisted of acquiring some basic skills and confidence whilst Sunday was the day of the “big adventure”. Everyone was amazed at how much they had accomplished and there was an overriding sense of “if I can do that then I can do anything!”
All great fun but demanding and satisfyingly tiring.
