National Schools Regatta

Round Up!

Sunny, rainy, warm and wildly windy… what a weekend! And highs and lows to match the mad weather.

Friday kicked off the competition for GHSRC – great efforts from both Boys’ and Girls’ J15 quads, but the fantastic result for the Girls’ quad who placed 5th in the A Final at their first-ever Nat Schools.

Saturday saw our senior quads in action:

– Boys Ch 4x (Open) ended the day in the A/B Semis after a storming recharge,

– Girls Ch 4x smashed it to get a place in their A/B Semis too,

– 2nd Girls 4x put in a really good show against stiff competition from more experienced crews.

Sunday saw wild, wet and windy conditions, with crews fighting to stop boats spinning out from starting pontoons.

Boys’ and Girls’ Ch 4x rowed in the A/B Semis – both battled the conditions valiantly but didn’t make their A finals.

Boys finished their B final 6th out of 8, rowing an absolutely blistering mid 500k to make up ground after a tricky start, brilliant performance.

Girls’ quad finished 8th of 8, but so close – 1.5 seconds between 6, 7 & 8 – excellent showing.

The crews were as follows:

Boys’ J15 1st 4x+ – Jake McCloghry, Matthew Smith, Toby Monaghan, Daniel Ruckley, cox Marnie Martineau,

Girls’ J15 1st 4x+ – Amy Fulton, Isla Griffith, Zoe Noble, Kate Desmeulles, cox Juliette Enoch-Wambergue

Boys’ Championship 4x – Cameron (S5), Samuel, Alec, and Scott (S6)

Girls’ Championship 4x – Anna, Clara, Katie (S6) and Lucie (S5),

2nd Girls 4x – Lottie (S4), Olivia (S5), Anna (S5), and Vilara (S4)

Thank you all for your support and big thanks to the parents who were able to make it down, it is an ask and hopefully lots of you were able to enjoy the events on live stream!
