Former pupil, Victoria Song came in to the speak to the Environmental Action Research Team at Heriot’s (EARTH) about working with data and GIS at Changeworks to plan Low Energy and Efficiency Strategies (LHEES).
LHEES is a local authority climate action strategy focused on delivering a place-based approach to heat transition and is part of Scottish statutory targets to be net zero by 2045. Victoria creates maps that help to zone areas that are most in need, or suited, to the implementation of energy efficiency measures. Victoria highlighted an exciting work experience programme that pupils can apply for (deadline 4th December), as well as encouraging pupils to find out more about GIS.
