Katherine Mellor (S5), recently came second in the Scottish Brain Bee Neuroscience Competition. Katherine along with several other pupils in S5 from Heriot’s spent the day at the University of Edinburgh, in the David Hume Tower, Lecture Theatre A.
All participants were subjected to a gruelling day that included: a multiple choice exam; Neuroanatomy, Histology, & Patient Diagnosis Exams but these exams were later followed by lunch (which included networking with Scientists), a seminar delivered by an anatomist and optional tours of the Anatomical Museum at Edinburgh Medical School. Well done to all pupils from GHS who gave up their Saturday to take part and we wish Katherine well in the National Brain Competition which takes place in London in March.
