Section 6: Declaration

As parent/s guardian/s of the applicant I/we

(1) apply for a place at George Heriot’s School for our child to become a pupil at the school with effect from the Admission Date specified above;

(2) enclose a non-refundable application fee of £90;

(3) accept that this application is subject to Heriot’s current admissions policy on the date when this application is received by the school;

(4) recognise that there is no obligation on George Heriot’s to offer a place at the school or accept our child as a pupil and that the Principal’s decision in relation to an offer of a place or any other matter is final;

(5) have enclosed information regarding any disability, additional support need, medical condition or other circumstances which might require our child to be given special assistance during the application process. (Please give specific details in a separate letter to accompany this form.)

(6) authorise the Principal to contact our child’s current school for
a) confirmation that all fees and other amounts due to them have been paid up to date
b) information on him/her which will assist the application such as academic reports or pupil profile, and we authorise his/her current school to provide this information to the Principal and

(7) accept that if George Heriot’s School offers a place at the school for our child, then I/we understand that if it is not accepted by me/us by the deadline stated on the letter of offer, the offer will be treated as declined or refused without any further notification.

(8) confirm that I/we and our child are either
a) British passport holders with the right to remain in the UK
b) Non-British passport holders with relevant VISA/Leave to remain documentation which can be provided on request.
