Last week, Heriot’s pupils, Niamh and Orlaith, took part in the 2.6 challenge in aid of Scoliosis UK. Alongside their father, they ran 26 miles in 26 hours – a mile an hour!
Niamh commented: “I have scoliosis. My family wanted to support me in raising a minimum of £260 for Scoliosis Awareness UK. None of us are runners but the challenge of running 26 miles in 26 hours – one mile at the start of every hour – sounded intriguing . Scoliosis Awareness UK offer support to families, research into scoliosis and information about scoliosis as it is not a very well known condition. We want to give the money to this charity as part of the 2.6 challenge.”
Niamh had hoped to raise £260 and has so far raised over £1500 for the charity.
