Aims of George Heriot's School

Heriot's central aim is to maintain the caring, academic traditions and ethos of the School and its Foundation.

To this end, Heriot's aims to provide a supportive, mutually respectful and well-disciplined learning environment which is holistic in approach and encourages positive attitudes, a striving for excellence and a lasting appreciation for learning amongst our pupils. Through our academic curriculum and our vast range of extra-curricular activities, we want our pupils to make the most of their opportunities for self-development and discovery of their full potential.
