Teacher of Drama

Part-time; Temporary Position

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher to join our Drama Department on a part-time (circa 0.5 FTE) basis from January 2019 until June 2019.

In addition to excellent proven teaching skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate a sound understanding of current curricular issues in Scottish education in general and those relating to the teaching of his/her own subject area.

The Drama Department is staffed by two full-time specialist Drama teachers, including the Head of Department, and a full-time production manager.

In S1 and S2, a block rotation operates, with each pupil having two 9-10 week blocks in the rotating subjects. Certificate Drama courses begin in S3 working towards National 5 presentation in S4, progressing to Higher and Advanced Higher level in S5 and S6. The Department has an excellent record of success in SQA presentations.

The department is well resourced, with two teaching rooms and a dedicated performance space. The department currently produces two major Senior School shows a session.
