Teacher of Business Education and Economics

Part-time (0.5 - 0.8 FTE); Temporary until June 2019

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Business Education to join our highly successful Business Education Department from October 2018.

The Business Education Department comprises 6 teachers, delivering Accounting, Business Management and Economics.

All pupils in S2 study a general Business Education course. From S3-S6 the department delivers N5 through to AH courses. Results are consistently very good indeed in all three subjects.

In Business Education we aim to deliver lessons that are stimulating and thought-provoking learning experiences. We seek to deploy a variety of methods within lessons to cater for different ways of learning and thinking because children like to learn in different ways at different times. We also aim to get children to think for themselves and to build up a sound knowledge base to give them something to think with and about.

In addition to curricular responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in the extra-curricular life of the School.
All applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the GTC Scotland.
