A New Constitution

Over the past 18 months, the Committee has been in discussions with the School with a view to developing the Club's work with the School and the Development Office. We seek to grow the Heriot Community around the World and wish to embrace the opportunity presented by modern communications methods like Facebook and Twitter. Part of this exploration has revealed a pressing need for unification of resources and a small change in the nature of The Heriot Club from being an "opt in" body to being an "opt out" one. Critically, this will enable both the Club and the School to smoothly communicate with all FP against the backdrop of modern communications legislation.

In order to enjoy a more streamlined and modern basis of operations and to allow for the inclusion of all FPs as members of The Heriot Club going ahead, the Committee has had the Club's Constitution refreshed and redrafted.

The Committee recommends the adoption of this new constitution, as viewable below, to the members of The Heriot Club. We would request therefore that as many members as possible join us at the AGM in the Council Room at the School on Thursday 24th April 2014 at 7pm, where we will take a vote to adopt this new Constitution.

It is important that we have as many voters as possible to make such a change. If you are unable to attend, please review the document and grant proxy to the Chair of the meeting or another attendee who is a member of the Club to vote on your behalf using the form accessible via the link below.
