School Swimming
Pupils who want to have access to the school pool can come along any morning from 7.45 to 8.15. The pupils receive coaching from older pupils and their technique and stamina improve considerably.
Competitive Swimming
The main competition is the Edinburgh School Swimming Gala and over the past few years GHS has been successful.

Fund Raising
A tradition started by former school captain, Tricia Munro, is to hold a sponsored Swim, just before Christmas. The charities that have been supported are Meningitis, Myeloma, the Blind School, National Schizophrenia Foundation, Downs Syndrome and the total sum raised exceeds £7 000.
