Cricket (P5 to P7)
There have been a few changes to school cricket over the past year. Cricket is now being taught to pupils in P5. In P5, pupils are taught the basic skills of the game during PE lessons and these skills are further developed during Games time during the summer term. In P6 the pupils play kwik (soft ball) cricket against other schools. This is a stepping stone for when they are introduced to hard ball cricket in P7. In both P6 and P7 we field 3 teams. All our teams are very competitive and last season Heriot's produced some very good results against some of the better cricket playing schools.
P5 and P6 pupils practise cricket during their Games times at Goldenacre on Monday and Tuesday respectively and P7 teams practise on a Wednesday with the option of an extra practice on a Tuesday.
